It's finally here.  The following is a post for making our first practice as smooth as possible.

Practice for the U10, U12, and U 14 groups will begin at 5:30 at the Cabernet Indoor Sporting complex in Livermore. The address is 6474 Patterson Pass Road Livermore, CA 94550-9581 (925) 455-8300.  The practice will conclude at 7:00.  The high school members will need to arrive no latter than 6:30 and their practice will end at 8:30.  There are two buildings, a soccer facility on the left side, and a baseball facility on the right.  Go to the left side and tell the front desk that you are here for the rugby practice.  They will tell you where we are practicing.  I believe, for this first practice we'll be in the soccer facility. Cabernet Requires that all teams/club which practice at their faciliity complete their liability form.  You can print and fill out prior to practice or you can fill it out when you arrive.  the form is here.

Before Wednesday ensure you have registered online with the club.  To create a profile or edit your existing profile click the following registration link.  Ensure that all information is updated and that you agree to the liability clause which you will agree to on the profile page of the registration.  On Wednesday I will download all the data for an accuarate count.  If you are not on the list you will need to edit the information at Cabernet before you can practice.  High school members who played last year will need to update your profiles.  Don't assume your registered fully until you check and ensure all information is updated.

Decide how you want to pay.  Many of you have paid club fees via our paypal account.  However you may still need to purchase the uniform and your registration fee with USA Rugby/California Youth Rugby.  To help with payment we've created invoices, one for U14 and younger players and one for high school players.  Bring this invoice to practice, it will be your receipt of payment.  If you are paying by check make it out to Pleasanton Cavaliers Rugby Club.  Detach the botom portion of the invoice and submit it with the payment when you check in at the table which will be set up for registration.

All members are required to pay for the club registration dues.  U 14 and younger members must also purchase a complete uniform.  High school members can choose to purchase the jersey, but must purchase new shorts and socks.  All members must be registered with USA rugby/California Rugby.  You need to decide if you want us to do it for you, or do it yourself. either way you will pay the same amount.  The Invoices will reflect these prices.  Deduct from the final invoice what you may have previously paid.  If you have paid via paypal we have your information recorded.

We will need to take your child's picture for the player cards which we will do before practice.

For practices you'll need  shorts, shirts and running shoes.  NO VANS!!  Something supportive.  Outdoor/ grass cleets are not allowed on the turf.  Running shoes or indoor turf cleets only.  Save your cleets for the grass.  Mouth pieces are also required for all ages.  Buy 3 because your child will loose at least two of them this year.  Bring water as well.  The facility has water for sale but I suggest you bring your own.

I know that many of you plan on creating car pools for practice.  I would ask that all parents come to the first practice so you can meet each other.  Rugby prides itself on being a community and we want you all to see what we are doing and get to know each other.  Additionally we want you to view the facilities.  They are first class.  They even have a viewing area above the fields where you can watch and have a beverage.

One last parting fact.  Our uniforms have been ordered and should arrive on Wednesday.  Unfortunately we will have to wait until the following Monday because they need to be embroidered.  We will wait until Monday's practice to get the uniforms out.  We've only ordered 60 for our first order/shipment.  I suggest you purchase now.  First come, First served and you may have to wait until the second shipment arrives to get your uniform.
