Come out to the 2010 Scottish Games and watch old men play rugby.  ALL are invited to attend and PLAY.  This is the one time that you get to hit a National Panel Referee!!  However if you are receiving this post chances are I'll be playing with you and not against you.  NO one gets to switch sides.  The Cavaliers will be hosting 2 other teams and fun is expected by all.  We'll meet at 8:30 outside the Pleasanton Fairgrounds.  Contact Ken Burnthorn for more details.

On October 17 the Cavaliers would like to take part in the Sunol bed races.  We are looking for runners!  Ken Burnthorn will also be entering the chili cookoff and is need of help. This is a great opportunity to have a fun day, and help support the club.  GET INVOLVED.

A couple of upcoming events for your consideration:

This coming Monday we will be hosting the club's annual AGM at Amador Valley High in room Q112 at 6:30.  Q112 is next to the student parking lot off of Santa Rita Rd.  It's on the bottom floor.

The Cavaliers will once again be participating in the Scottish games September 4th.  We will be hosting the Campbell Marauders, Diablo Gaels,Stanislaus Harlots and Vallejo Barbarians in a rugby match.  We are asking all Tri Valley an former Cavaliers to come out and get in a run.  Too much fun.  FOr more details contact Ken.

Attention all members, The club bylaws require that a general meeting be held once a year to discuss club matters, nominate and elect board officers for the current year, and provide a focus for the next year.  All members, and parents representing players are asked to attend this meeting and vote.  If you have an interest in running for a board position, please reply to this email.

A more formal agenda will be forth coming but we wanted to give you ample time to coordinate your schedules.  The general meeting will be held at Amador Valley High School, room Q112, at 6:30 on August 23rd.

First item is 7's rugby.

The Cavaliers Rugby Camp date is the last week of July, July 26-30 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. If you register prior to July 1 the cost is $150.00.  After July 1 the cost will be $200. 

This coming Friday, Ken Burnthorn, GIles Wilson, and Paul Bretz will be going to the Sunol Glen School District to introduce the faculty and students on the fun of touch rugby.  Wish us luck.

Paul Simko, the director of the Video A Giant Awakens, has updated their web site to include the interviews that many of our kids participated in during the banquet last month.  The link is here http://www.agiantawakens.com/.  Additionally you might find yourself on a TV commercial advertising the movie On June 5th and 6th.  the commercials will air during the telecast of the College 7's rugby Championships shown on NBC.  Be sure to tune in and watch some fantastic rugby.  Here's a feed of the interviews
